The Implementation of Nursing Specialties in Spain, 2005–2018: A Documental Study
This study aimed to analyze the implementation of the Spanish Nursing Specialty process according to the Royal Decree 450/2005. It used the documentary and systematic analysis method: a systematic review of official regulation documents published in the State Official Bulletin of Spain, Spanish legislative and historical nursing inventories, and other nursing-specific literature. This study shows an extensive account of nursing specialties' development process through a rather long period in Spain. It evidences the complexity involved to ensure legislative legality. Clinical Nurse Specialists on the Night Shift
This article describes the addition of night CNS positions, their roles, and associated outcomes. Intervention The night CNSs were implemented to perform a highly flexible set of activities including proactive rounding on high-risk patients and medications; code/rapid response support; education; nursing practice/policy reinforcement; providing psychosocial support to nurses, patients, and families; and responding to consults. Conclusion The CPR Camp initiative is an effective model for promoting and sustaining resilience-building strategies among health profession students. Similar programming conducted and/or attended by academic and/or health system leaders, such as clinical nurse specialists, can help cultivate practices for resilience among the members of the interprofessional workforce, enabling teams to better cope with stress, prevent burnout, and ultimately improve team-based care delivery for patients and their families. Recently, there seems to be more creative advertising regarding bismuth subsalicylate (BSS) for lots of gastrointestinal issues. I have found during medication reconciliation that some patients overuse and believe use of BSS products is without risks. From an advertising perspective, there seem to be many happy persons consuming BSS with no mention of restrictions or safety recommendations. What are the risks associated with its use?
