Effectiveness and interest of retrobulbar hyaluronidase injections in the treatment of blindness complicating facial hyaluronic acid injections: A literature review
DISCUSSION: Literature reveals only 3 cases of successful treatment out of the 16 reported injections. The time interval before retrobulbar injection, as well as the dose and the experience of the injecting practitioner, may influence the success rate of this treatment. Other treatments, such as intravascular hyaluronidase injections, remain to be explored.PMID:37980189 | DOI:10.1016/j.anplas.2023.10.002 (Source: Annales de Chirurgie)

Reconstruction of a septic femoral triangle fistula with a pedicled DIEP flap: A case report and mini-review
We report a septic rupture of the superficial femoral artery treated with an arterial allograft and covered with a contralateral pedicled Deep Inferior Epigastric Artery Perforator (DIEP) flap. The patient presented favorable outcomes, including optimal healing at 8 months, with no functional limitation. A literature review also discusses alternative pedicled perforator flaps. These modern techniques present several advantages, including reliability, and can be of great interest in complex vascular surgery cases.PMID:37932173 | DOI:10.1016/j.anplas.2023.10.001 (Source: Annales de Chirurgie)

Case report: Great toe dorsal defect reconstruction by cross-toe flap
Ann Chir Plast Esthet. 2023 Nov 4:S0294-1260(23)00130-9. doi: 10.1016/j.anplas.2023.09.007. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTReconstruction of hallux soft-tissue defects is essential for the locomotor function. Some regional flaps are available and have to be preferred in case of small defect. Here, we present the case of a patient treated by a cross-toe flap in order to cover an exposed hallux proximal interphalangeal joint, after an open fracture. The functional outcome of this reliable and easy flap was very satisfying, with quick wound healing and resumption walk.PMID:37932174 | DOI:10.1016/j.anplas.2023.09.007 (Source: Annales de Chirurgie)
