Clinical laboratory Analysis of EB Virus Associated Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis in Children
CONCLUSION: Significant changes in laboratory results can contribute to the early diagnosis and targeted treatment of EBV-HLH, especially for critically ill children. We should pay timely attention to laboratory examinations, diagnosis and treatment, and avoid or reduce the occurrence of adverse consequences. Based on the results of the study on Epstein-Barr virus-associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (EBV-HLH) in children, specific strategies and criteria can be proposed to aid in the early identification of critically ill children with this condition in clinical practice: Clinical Screening, Risk Stratification, ...

Identification of the Immune-related lncRNA SNHG14/ miR-200a-3p/ PCOLCE2 Axis in Colorectal Cancer
CONCLUSIONS: The current study revealed for the first time that a novel regulatory axis-long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) small nucleolar RNA host gene 14 (SNHG14)/ miR-200a-3p/ PCOLCE2- can act as the oncogenic axis of CRC cells and that clinicians can use it to predict the OS of colon-cancer patients. Additionally, differences in the protein expression of PCOLCE2 between normal and adenocarcinoma-colorectal tissues suggest its potential as a prognostic biomarker for CRC.PMID:38639631 (Source: Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine)

Difference of Esophageal Motility and Reflux Characteristics in Patients with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) and Chronic Cough (CC) and the Impact of Standardized Drug Therapy
This study aimed to explore the difference between esophageal motility and reflux characteristics in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and chronic cough (CC) and the effect of standardized drug therapy. Eighty-four patients diagnosed with GERD in The First People's Hospital of Hangzhou from December 2020 to December 2022 were enrolled in this study. They were divided into an observation group (Obs group, patients with GERD + CC, n = 26 cases) and a control group (control group, patients with typical GERD, n = 58 cases). Reflux symptom integral questionnaire, cough symptom integral questionnaire, high-res...

Correlation Between the Severity of Coronary Artery Disease and Retinal Artery Disease and the Therapeutic Effect of Captopril
CONCLUSION: A significant positive correlation was observed between the severity of coronary artery lesions and retinal artery lesions. Assessing alterations in retinal blood vessels in hypertensive patients can effectively indicate the extent of coronary artery stenosis indirectly. Concerning medication, the antihypertensive drug captopril demonstrated the potential to alleviate the severity of coronary artery and retinal artery lesions in hypertensive patients. However, specific treatment methods should be tailored to individual patient circumstances.PMID:38607208 (Source: Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine)
