Dear All, I feel so very sad reading all the comments posted on this website. So many women facing such a dreadful decision, and most of them after having already put up with YEARS of misery.
I have had menstrual problems for ages. I had heavy and painful, irregular periods in my teens, and was put on the Pill. Not that the Pill did any good, it just gave me spots, bloating and mood swings. I gave that up pretty quickly, and just decided to put up with my menstrual pain. This settled down for a little while during my twenties, and I successfully completed University, began my career, and met a great guy.

Carole ’ s Hysterectomy Story
I had my hysterectomy on Feb. 13 of this year. The procedure was done robotically, by the da Vinci method. This meant my body was slanted almost straight up and down and a complete hysterectomy was done. The da Vinci robot magnifies everything inside 10 – 12 times so it is easier for the surgeon to see and to make sure he/she doesn’t nick or cut things other than what is to be removed. In my hysterectomy everything was removed, uterus, cervix, ovaries, fallopian tubes, etc. Thankfully, no cancer was found as the doctors I had seen (and I!) were concerned there would be.
I am at the sixth week in recovery today,...

Julies Endometriosis Story
I was diagnosed with Endometriosis back in 2002 after complaining of pelvic pain for a few years before that! The condition was discovered during removal of a damaged fallopian tube, the endometriosis was in the tube removed.
Later pelvic pain continued and the remaining tube was removed after blue dye proved it was also damaged. I later continued to suffer pelvic pain and lower back pain and after being sent to a Physio for back pain and counsellors to deal with depression and anxiety made worse by the ongoing pain then had a hysteroscopy and laparoscopy where extensive endometriosis was found and that was in 2007 5 yea...
