Why aren't there medicated lollipops available OTC to relieve mouth sores in children with hand, foot, and mouth disease?
I'm a pharmacist with very little retail experience, so please bear with me. I have a two-year-old who attends daycare, and HFMD is very common, so I'm wondering why there isn't an OTC medicated lollipop. I believe there are compounded products, such as tetracaine lollipops but require RX and compounding. There are OTC throat lozenges but typically not used for the same indication and do not help.
