Single Centre Elective Combination of Single Perclose + Angio-Seal Compared With Standard of Care During Percutaneous Endovascular Aortic Aneurysm Repair
Objective: Endovascular aneurysms aortic repair (EVAR) is nowadays commonly used even in average risk patients, due to high technical results and patient preference. To reduce invasiveness, percutaneous EVAR (pEVAR) is a ground gaining solution. Standard pEVAR using a Perclose (Abbott, Abbott Park, IL, USA) suture mediated closure device designates the use of a single device or double devices for arterial accesses up to 8F and 21F, respectively. In case of unsatisfactory haemostasis, before open surgical conversion, different techniques can be used such as prolonged manual compression, use of multiple Perclose devices, and...

Operative Time and Results of Elective Endovascular Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair
Introduction: Operative time is a known risk factor for adverse outcomes after open surgery. However, not much is known about how operative time may influence complications after endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR). (Source: EJVES Extra)

The Impact of Ruptured Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Diameter on Mortality from the ICVR
Introduction: The mortality following ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm (rAAA) repair is high despite improvements in peri-operative care, centralisation of emergency vascular surgical services, and the introduction of Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR). The diameter of intact AAA has been shown to be a predictor of short and long term survival. The aim of this study was to analyse the impact of AAA diameter at presentation on mortality for ruptured AAA repair using contemporary data collected by the International Consortium of Vascular Registries (ICVR) from seven countries. Contemporary Results of EVAR in the Treatment of Ruptured Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms
Introduction: Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) rupture is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR) has emerged as a safe and effective treatment for ruptured AAA (rAAA), being now recommended as the first strategy for anatomically compatible aneurysms. Accessory Renal Arteries Role In Endovascular Treatment Of Abdominal Aorta Aneurysms
Objective: Accessory renal arteries (ARAs) often co-exist with abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs); in fact between 9.5% and 16.2% of patients undergoing endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR) present with an ARA emerging from the neck, the aneurysmal, sac or the iliac arteries. The current evidence supports the coverage of an ARA localised at the neck level to obtain an adequate sealing zone. On the other hand, EVAR is associated with renal dysfunction, and ARA exclusion could further aff5ct renal function, and the ESVS guidelines recommend the ARA preservation when the diameter is more than 3 mm or when it vascularises...

Comparison between Onyx and coil embolization for persistent type 2 endoleaks after endovascular aneurysm repair
CONCLUSION: There appears to be no significant difference in the results of Onyx and coil embolization for T2EL treatment, although it is difficult to evaluate effectiveness due to the small number of cases and short follow-up period. However, in cases of multiple origin endoleaks or when the transarterial approach is not feasible, the Onyx by translumbar approach may be a more effective method.PMID:38435491 | PMC:PMC10902624 | DOI:10.4174/astr.2024.106.3.178 (Source: Annals of Surgical Treatment and Research)

CO < sub > 2 < /sub > is the contrast media to choose in patients with initial Chronic Kidney Disease undergoing endovascular aneurysm repair to prevent further renal function deterioration
CONCLUSIONS: ICM seems to be a determining factor in worsening renal function; therefore, an effort should be made to standardize the use of CO2 as the contrast medium of choice in patients with initial renal insufficiency undergoing EVAR.PMID:38438115 | DOI:10.1177/17085381241238044 (Source: Vascular)
