Taking Orgo 2 for the 5th time - am I delusional?
I am going to be taking Organic Chemistry 2 for the 5th time this summer. (Lord.) I took Organic Chemistry 1 THREE times before I finally passed with a C. I HATE chemistry to say the least. I don't get it at all but to be fair, if I spent more time with the material than I currently do, I might manage to absorb something. It's gotten to the point where I considered having short-term memory loss. That said, I think a big factor with this is my confidence level. After having struggled so much... Anterograde vs Retrograde amnesia and Proactive vs Retroactive Interference
I seem to get these mixed up... anyone have a good way to remember these? Any useful Mnemonics or acronyms or any suggestions please? I'd hate to miss an easy point because of a question where I stupidly mix them up. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Barbiturates amnesia?
Obviously barbiturates are rarely used now a days since the introduction of safer sedatives/ anesthetics, but I know they still are used for certain things especially in neurology such as refractory seizures or wada tests. When used, do they cause anterograde amnesia like other GABA acting sedatives/ hypnotics like benzos or propofol? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

I have memory problems. Can I be a good medical student?
I don't think I Have amnesia. But no matter how much I read, I find it almost impossible to recall. I think I might get accepted in med school; but is there any chance that I will be a good medical student? (Med school starts in May. Assuming I get accepted.) (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Neuropsychology diagnoses?
What exactly can neuropsychologists diagnose? Can they diagnose various neurological diseases/ disorders like dementia, parkinsons, stroke, TBI, etc? Or do they only diagnose the functional deficits of these conditions, like memory loss, impaired speech, etc? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

confused about pseudodementia diagnosis!
Does pseudo dementia need to meet the same diagnostic criteria as MDD? (Depression or anhedonia + 5 of SIGECAPS) I came across an NBME question where an elderly woman presented with memory loss, and trouble sleeping etc... but there was NO mention of "feeling depressed" or irritability etc. Also no mention of whether her interest in hobbies/activites etc had changed. The correct answer was MDD. I counted her sx and it seemed like she did NOT meet the strict definition of MDD that... confused about pseudodementia diagnosis! (Source: Student Doctor Network)
