Incidence and Treatment Outcomes of Rectovaginal Fistula After Rectal Cancer Resection
Conclusions
The incidence of RVF after rectal resection is low, but treatment outcomes are disappointing. Diversions and local repairs had high failure rates in our patients where the majority received preoperative radiation therapy. After successful healing, sexual function and continence are acceptable.
