Efficacy of novel microwave energy ‐based scissors device for laparoscopic liver resection

AbstractLaparoscopic liver resection (LLR) is now widely performed. Laparoscopic energy devices require optimal hemostasis and a clear view; however, the mist caused by laparoscopic hepatic parenchymal resection reduces the visibility of the surgical field and stresses the surgeon. Moreover, when a tumor is located near the hepatic veins or major Glissonean pedicle, surgeons require advanced techniques for securing surgical margins and preserving the vessels; however, there are limitations in fine dissection using conventional energy devices.
