Effectiveness of Debriefing for Meaningful Learning-based simulation training on high-risk neonatal care: A randomized controlled simulation study

Clinical training is an integral part of learning, through which nursing students directly and indirectly apply theories and key nursing techniques learned in class to real clinical situations (Gonz ález-García, Lana, Zurrón-Madera, Valcárcel-Álvarez,& Fern ández-Feito, 2020). However, recent issues regarding the protection of patients’ rights and infections in clinical settings have limited students’ opportunities for nursing practice during clinical training (Shin, Lee,& Rim, 2015). Furthermore, since the outbreak of the global coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, clinical training has been restricted or prohibited in neonatal intensive care units where high-risk neonates with weak immune systems receive treatment and care (Fogg  et al., 2020).
