Comfort measures for peripheral I.V. catheter placement in children

Abstract:

I.V. catheter placement is one of the most common causes of procedural pain in children. Interventions to address this pain are readily available but inconsistently used in practice. The focus of this article is to identify and encourage best practice for pain mitigation in peripheral I.V. catheter placement in children.
