This study was based on data from the 14th Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-Based Survey (2018). The subjects were 2460 high school students who reported sexual experiences. Student′s t-test, ANOVA, and Rao-Scott chi-squared test were performed to identify the significance of the differences. Boys had earlier sexual debuts (Rao‑Scott χ2 = 53.55, p < 0.001), a lower frequency of using contraceptives (Rao-Scott χ2 = 26.57, p < 0.001), and lower rates of sex education in school (Rao-Scott χ2 = 11.20, p = 0.004). With respect to mental health factors, there was a difference in suicidality accordi...

AbstractAlthough prior research has examined associations between blood pressure (BP), depression, and suicidal ideation, few studies have examined this in high-risk populations such as pregnant women with HIV (WHIV). The current study examined the association of BP with depression and suicidal ideation among pregnant WHIV (n  = 217) in rural South Africa. BP data (measured ≤ 1 month before the study visit) was extracted from medical records. Depressive symptomatology and suicidal ideation were assessed using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale. Diastolic BP was positively associate...

Peripartum depression (PPD) occurs when an individual suffers from depression during pregnancy or after childbirth. PPD can affect the health and quality of life for both mother and child (ie, increased maternal prevalence of suicidal ideation, and the child may suffer from internalizing and externalizing problems, depression, and lower cognitive performance throughout childhood). Exercise during the postpartum (PP) period significantly reduces PP depressive symptoms. There is a dearth of literature evaluating if there is a relationship between activity level during pregnancy and PP mood disorders.

This study used data from the Interaction of Gene and Environment of Depression in PostPartum (IGEDEPP), a French multicenter prospective cohort study, including 3,252 women who completed the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire at the maternity department between November 2011 and June 2016. Depression during pregnancy was assessed retrospectively at the maternity department using DSM-5 criteria. Early- and late-onset postpartum depression were assessed at 2 months and 1 year postpartum, respectively. Results: Among the 3,252 women, 298 (9.2%) reported at least 1 CT. Women with CT had a higher risk of depression (OR = 2.2; 95% C...
