Response to Letter to the Editor

We thank Drs Ide et al for their interest in our case report of a patient with numerous CEOTs (calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumors, Pindborg tumors).1,2 They believe, based on the multiplicity of lesions, photomicrographic features and special staining characteristics that the proper diagnosis for our case is multiple calcifying hyperplastic dental follicles (MCHDF).1,3,4 We had similar concerns but concluded, based on these same features, that it was not MCHDF, a conclusion reached by virtually every other case report of multiple CEOTs; they do not even mention MCHDF.
