Glucose Tolerance after Pancreatectomy: A Prospective Observational Follow-Up Study of Pancreaticoduodenectomy and Distal Pancreatectomy
We investigated changes in glucose tolerance after pancreatectomy. Glucose tolerance showed a significant trend for improvement after pancreaticoduodenectomy, whereas it worsened after distal pancreatectomy. Insulin secretion decreased after both procedures, although insulin resistance improved after pancreaticoduodenectomy only.
