Cartilage Restoration and Use of Orthobiologics

Orthobiologics are materials derived from biological substances, which aim to improve regeneration of tissues that are relevant in orthopedic surgery. Platelet-rich plasma, bone marrow, and mesenchymal stem cells are examples of orthobiologics, the use of which has increased explosively in clinical practice in recent years. In this chapter, we review the characteristics and clinical evidence available for this orthobiologics.
