Medical marijuana update: Kansas bill wins committee approval; Montel Williams testifies in Missouri
As Alaska becomes the third state with legal marijuana, legislative committees in Kansas and Missouri are rolling out their medical marijuana plans.
In Kansas, a House committee has approved a bill allowing for the use of cannabis oil to treat seizure disorders, KCUR reports. The approval is the first time any Kansas House committee has approved a form of medical marijuana.
Another bill that would allow Regents universities to research uses for industrial hemp also began its odyssey through committee.
