Integrase strand transfer inhibitors can simplify HIV treatment

AbstractIntegrase strand transfer inhibitors (INSTIs) bictegravir, dolutegravir, cabotegravir, elvitegravir and raltegravir, mostly available as fixed dose combinations are recommended treatments in both newly diagnosed and treatment-experienced patients with HIV. Their efficacy, good tolerability and simplified dosing regimens facilitate treatment adherence and a recently approved cabotegravir 4-weekly injection is a major advance.
