COVID-19 - guidance for planning paediatric staffing and rotas, RCPCH (updated 21st May 2021)

The guidance below was put together in response to the first and second phase of the COVID-19 pandemic. This information, relevant to the situation at the time, was put in place to help individuals who are planning paediatric and neonatal staffing, rotas and services. We are aware that different services and regions will have varying requirements and hence we are leaving this information live to support you. If a third wave is evident then we will update according with any new guidance. Whilst in the first and second wave not many children became unwell from COVID-19 we know there were many unintended consequences for children. Many services are still working very differently, and we want to provide advice to support you. It is vital that we protect our services, the wellbeing of staff, and ultimately child health outcomes.
