Untargeted Metabolomic Analyses Reveal Chemical Complexity of Dioecious Cannabis Flowers

Metabolic variation between male and female unisexual flowers of the plant genus Cannabis was examined by liquid chromatography–high-resolution mass spectrometry. In addition to variation in phytocannabinoid concentration, untargeted metabolic analyses revealed several differentially abundant metabolites associated with sexual phenotype.
