Surgeon vs Pathologist for the Prediction of Pancreatic Fistula: Results from the Randomized Multicenter RECOPANC Study

This post-hoc analysis of a multicenter trial of 261 pancreatic head resections demonstrates that histologically evaluated pancreatic fibrosis is an easily applicable and highly reproducible predictor of postoperative pancreatic fistula and is superior to surgically evaluated pancreatic texture.
