A national survey of HIV knowledge, sexual practices and attitude towards homosexuality for HIV elimination among young people in China
This study assessed HIV knowledge, attitude towards homosexuality, sexual behaviours among Chinese young people aged 15–24 years, and found: (1) the level of HIV knowledge was low; (2) 48% supported same-sex marriage; and (3) male students and senior high school students demonstrated more risk-taking sexual behaviours. More comprehensive educational programs for HIV prevention should be implemented to curb the rising HIV epidemic among young people.
