UNISON sends a very public festive ‘thank you’ to its 1.3m members

UNISON is sending a festive message to every public service worker this week, in the form of newspaper adverts thanking them for the many ways they have supported our communities this year. The adverts list how our union’s 1.3million public service “stars” have kept our streets safe, our hospitals running, our rubbish collected, our power on, our elderly looked after and our communities cared for. And they tell our members and the public that, “We’re proud to represent 1.3 million public service stars.” The ads will appear in The Guardian and the Metro papers nationwide, plus The Mirror and Daily Record and a range of local papers across the UK, from today, Monday 21 December. UNISON general secretary Dave Prentis said: “This has been an extraordinary year and our public service workers have been in the frontline – fighting the pandemic and supporting our communities. “Thank you to every single one of our members. This year, more than ever, we are proud to represent you.”   The article UNISON sends a very public festive ‘thank you’ to its 1.3m members first appeared on the UNISON National site.
