Metamaterials: Liquid Metal ‐Polymer Microlattice Metamaterials with High Fracture Toughness and Damage Recoverability (Small 46/2020)

Liquid metal ‐based metamaterials show great potential in soft robots, flexible electronics and biomedical applications. In article number2004190, Yang Lu and co ‐workers report gallium (Ga)‐filled microlattice metamaterials fabricated by projection micro‐stereolithography (PμSL) 3D printing, which exhibit exceptional toughness and recoverability due to the tunable properties of Ga at relatively low temperatures, offering new insights for design and m anufacturing of mechanical metamaterials.
