Intramedullary hemostasis further reduces postoperative anemia in patients over 70 years old undergoing total hip arthroplasty.

CONCLUSION: We discovered that application of TXA alone is not sufficient to prevent postoperative moderate anemia in patients over 70 years old. Combination of TXA and MCH is an effective and safe way to alleviate the severity of postoperative anemia.
