Increasing the science: Laser does not change vaginal skin in menopause.

Abstract
The breadth of the warning noted the risk of serious adverse events to the patient and that the efficacy and safety of treatments had not been established. It is likely that the impact of other devices, such as mesh procedures for vaginal prolapse that had substantive impact on women's health, were contributory to the statement. Despite this warning, there has been rapid uptake in vaginal laser and energy treatments globally with relatively little scientific evidence.
