Comparison of Adverse Events Between Cervical Disc Arthroplasty and Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion: A 10-year Follow-up

Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) with plating has been proven to be a successful procedure with good outcomes and high patient satisfaction.[1] Cervical disc arthroplasty (CDA) has the potential to reduce the risk of adjacent level disc degeneration and segmental instability that may be seen after a cervical fusion.[2-5] One of several cervical disc arthroplasty devices has undergone safety and effectiveness evaluation in the United States. It currently has one of the longest follow-up periods available for review.
