20.2 measurement of dysregulation in children and adolescents

The measurement of emotion dysregulation in children and adolescents overlaps with a number of different constructs including aggression, irritability, and many others. Consequently, the Task Force was tasked with first coming to some consensus over what is meant by dysregulation and then how to measure it. As a whole task force, the discussion attempted to try to resolve the need to specifically quantify behaviors in children with severe outbursts. This conversation and the subsequent rating scales discussion were then moved to a Working Group on phenomenology and measurement.
