57.3 novel indications for ect in pediatrics

Traditionally, ECT was used in refractory status epilepticus and to treat symptoms of catatonia; however, in the last 2 decades, case reports from around the world have emerged, expanding its role in the treatment of other refractory medical and mental health conditions in pediatric populations. These novel uses of ECT, along with safety and tolerability data in young patients, will be reviewed.
