The platelets/lymphocytes ratio as marker of sarcopenia in critical chronic ischemia

The European guidelines on critical chronic ischemia (CCI) recommend identifying the sub-groups of patients at risk. Sarcopenia was highlighted as a factor of poor prognosis in the infra-inguinal revascularizations, but the evaluation of sarcopenia based on the preoperative CT can be regarded as tedious in current practice. The platelets/lymphocytes ratio (PLR) is a marker of sarcopenia used in other specialties, like digestive surgery or oncology. The aim of this study was to evaluate if PLR could be a fast marker of sarcopenia in patients with CCI.
