Single prognostic cut-off value for admission glycemia in acute myocardial infarction has been used although high-risk stems from hyperglycemia as well as from hypoglycemia (a narrative review)

Admission blood glucose (ABGlu) concentration is very good, universally available and cheap prognostic parameter in acute myocardial infarction (AMI), both with ST elevation (STEMI) and without it (NSTEMI) [1]. To our knowledge, the good prognostic characteristics of admission glycemia are demonstrated in every published paper on the topic [2].
