DNA Damage Promotes TMPRSS2-ERG Oncoprotein Destruction and Prostate Cancer Suppression via Signaling Converged by GSK3 β and WEE1
TMPRSS2-ERG oncoprotein plays a pivotal role in prostate oncogenesis and progression and is a potential therapeutic target of prostate cancer. Hong et al. reveal a previously unrecognized TMPRSS2-ERG protein destruction mechanism, and intact PTEN and GSK3β signaling are essential for effective targeting of TMPRSS2-ERG by genotoxic therapeutics in prostate cancer.
