Remote Retrieval of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Data - Isn ’t It About Time?

It was 4:40 pm when the pager screeched its intrusive tone. I knew this only meant one thing - I ’d be pushing off dinner plans yet again for the infamous “late admission.” The emergency department (ED) sign out was typical: 34M, syncope. Ok, not so bad. I consulted my weathered pocket guide to get a head start on the case. Discharging this young man from the ED seemed like a real possibi lity! Little did I know, I would soon become part of a story my attending deemed "the case of my career."
