Low-cost devices to prevent SARS-CoV-2 infection during open and laparoscopic surgery
During the COVID-19 pandemic, a debate started on the safety of smoke evacuation in the surgical field, due to the hypothesis that the virus can be produced during an aerosol-generating procedure (AGP). An AGP is defined as a medical or surgical procedure that can induce the production of aerosols of any size, either during open or minimally invasive approaches.1
