NIH COVID-19 Community Engagement Forum: A Call to Action

Across the nation, communities are being challenged by the impact of COVID-19 on overall health and well being. In particular, communities of color and other vulnerable groups are enduring a disproportionate burden of COVID-19 associated illness and death. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is committed to accelerating the development of therapeutic interventions, vaccines, and diagnostics to benefit all populations. NIH recognizes that specific and concerted efforts are urgently needed to help ensure that vulnerable populations are effectively engaged and included in NIH-supported COVID-19 research efforts. To reach this goal, it is essential to rapidly and effectively mobilize and partner with researchers and organizations that have established and trusted relationships within specific communities in a range of activities including research, education, outreach, and communications.Air date: 7/21/2020 2:00:00 PM
