A novel plant-derived compound is synergistic with 5-fluorouracil and has increased apoptotic activity through autophagy in the treatment of actinic keratoses.

Conclusions: We demonstrate that GZ17-6.02 exerts lethal effects on AK cells in vitro. We also demonstrate GZ17-6.02's superior efficacy against AK than the current standard of care, 5-fluorouracil, showing its promise both as a monotherapy and in combination with 5-fluorouracil.
