8. Level of Anti-M üllerian Hormone and the Association of Vitamin D Deficiency with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome in Adolescent Females

Diagnosis of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) in the adolescent population remains imprecise. High anti-M üllerian hormone (AMH) levels and 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] deficiency have been associated with PCOS in adult women, and implicated in its pathogenesis. Herein we determined if the level of both AMH and 25(OH)D are altered in adolescent females with clinical features of PCOS.

This study aimed to investigate the vitamin D status, and analyze the relationship between vitamin D deficiency and metabolic risk factors in PCOS women in Shaanxi China. Methods: A cross-sectional study included 169 women diagnosed with PCOS and 114 control women without PCOS. The serum 25(OH)D and metabolic markers were measured. Vitamin D deficiency was defined as serum 25(OH)D concentration less than 20 ng/mL. The primary outcome was the difference in vitamin D status between the PCOS and control groups, the secondary outcomes were correlations between serum 25(OH)D concentration and metabolic risk factors in women with...

Horm Metab Res 2020; 52: 89-94 DOI: 10.1055/a-1084-5441Women with PCOS are linked to insulin resistance, inflammation, and vitamin D (VD) deficiency. The study endeavors to comprehend the differential impact of insulin sensitizers vs. anti-androgen on serum leptin levels among women with PCOS rendered vitamin D replete with high VD oral supplement. This was open-labeled randomized study that screened 180 eligible women presenting to Endocrine clinic with oligomenorrhea or features of hyperandrogenism. Ninety-nine women who furnished written informed consent and fulfilled the Rotterdam 2003 criteria for diagnosis of PCOS we...

This study aims to better understand the role of vitamin D on reproductive outcomes and uterine factor infertility. We sought to investigate the impact of vitamin D deficiency on endometrial thickness in patients with an elevated anti-mullerian hormone (AMH) representative of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).

Authors: Arslan E, Gorkem U, Togrul C Abstract Introduction It is still unclear in the literature whether low vitamin D levels play a role in the pathogenesis of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), especially with respect to the regulation of anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH). Therefore, we aimed to investigate whether there could be a relationship between vitamin D deficiency status and PCOS. Materials and Methods A total of 146 infertile women were divided into two groups according to their ovarian reserve patterns: (i) normal (NOR), and (ii) high (PCOS). The participants were also categorized into two groups accor...
