Narrowing the gap between efficacy and effectiveness using the TIDieR checklist
In this issue of the American Journal of Emergency Medicine, Fladie et al. describe the completeness of reporting in a large random sample of 233 randomized interventional trials in the emergency medicine literature [1]. Each trial was assessed using the Template for Intervention Description and Replication (TIDieR) checklist which includes various informational items such as intervention delivery, procedures, information about the materials, any study modifications, and adherence assessment methods and outcomes [2].
