How race car technology keeps babies safe
Although a pregnant mother may plan to deliver an infant with a trained provider at a hospital, birth center, or home, there are times that infants arrive unexpectedly. For the majority of women in the US, an in-hospital-birth is the standard of care that is covered by insurance and Medicaid (MacDorman& Declercq, 2019). When a newborn arrives precipitously without the presence of a health care provider, generally both the infant and the mother are transported to a hospital by ambulance to ensure proper postpartum care.
