The Power of the Meitheal

As I started my term as board chair, I challenged our ACR to come together and move the needle on the penetrance of lifesaving screening for lung cancer with low-dose CT. In Ireland, this kind of community effort is a called a Meitheal (pronounced “meh-hill”) [1], and as we tend to celebrate all things Irish in March, I would like to celebrate this collaborative effort striving to make a difference in the fight to reduce deaths related to lung cancer. You are saving lives. You are, indeed, making a difference.
