Micro- and Macrocystic Lymphatic Malformation

A 6-year-old boy presented to our dermatology department for evaluation and treatment of a lymphatic malformation. He had undergone partial surgical resection at age 3, sclerotherapy using sodium tetradecyl sulfate, and multiple treatments with 1064-nm and 595-nm wavelength lasers, and continued to experience symptomatic recurrence of this lesion. Upon initial physical examination, there was an 8- to 10-cm plaque composed of multiple purple and pink papulovesicles located on the left lateral chest and extending to the axilla with ill-defined underlying fullness (Figure).
