Fe3O4@nano-dextrin/Ti(IV): A unique and recyclable catalyst for aqueous pseudo-four-component reaction

Publication date: Available online 29 November 2019Source: Journal of Organometallic ChemistryAuthor(s): Elaheh Babaei, Bi Bi Fatemeh MirjaliliAbstractDextrin nanoparticles as a biodegradable biopolymers were converted to magnetic nanoparticles (Fe3O4@nano-dextrin) then based on the resulted core-shell structure as a support for lewis acid (Ti(IV)) was used. Thus, the Fe3O4@nano-dextrin/Ti(IV) catalyst with a very easy and complete recovering ability was synthesized. The synthesized catalyst was characterized by different techniques such as FT-IR, FESEM, TEM, ICP, VSM, XRF as well as TGA. Just as initial reporting, the efficiency of the above-mentioned catalyst was investigated in the synthesis of 1,3-naphthoxazines in good yields under benign reaction conditions. This new bio-catalyzed procedure could be helpful in economic and biocompatibility aspects in multi component reactions.Graphical abstract
