Thoughts on Changes to My Blog, Life With Breast Cancer

With all the changes to the blog platform here at Everydayhealth.com, I was thinking about some changes of my own. For one, as a breast cancer survivor, I spend a lot of time thinking about life beyond breast cancer and how I can stay healthy and cancer free. That had me thinking of changing the name of my “Life With Breast Cancer“ blog to Life Beyond Breast Cancer. Another change was to include comments and quotes from wellness providers that I have been meeting along my journey to wellness mission for this year. I have decided to hold off on the name change but love the idea of sharing some of the great info I have been getting from experts for my own health. The biggest change in the middle-aged phase of my life, after breast cancer, of course, was to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. I already had a degree in business and politics, and it served me well in career and interest for much of my adult life. After blogging about breast cancer for years and acting as a patient advocate, nursing studies are not as farfetched an idea as one might think. Life after breast cancer, after all, is much more than just being happy to be alive – it is all about shining, thriving and triumphing. Gaining the means to disseminate the knowledge is one way to win! Maybe as a survivor I have a greater interest in bolstering my own health and wellness beyond the disease, but as a nurse, I find I am fascinated and drawn to all the cancer research that is being done and how i...
