The ASE Leadership Academy: “Reap What You Sow” and Other Gardening Metaphors

“You reap what you sow.” Modified from an original Biblical reference, this quote applies to so many settings, and a professional society like ASE is hardly exempt. Continuing the gardening metaphor, investing in leadership is like tending to a garden with horticultural diversity. Different plan ts have distinct needs. From sunshine, to water, to nourishment, to temperature, they all thrive under a variety of settings but more importantly, perish without them. A monocultural approach is often fatal to the growth of a multicultural organization.
