7.2 more than abstinence and condoms: comprehensive sexuality education
Research shows that 93 percent of Americans support sexuality education in schools. However, the extent of that education varies from state to state, with nearly half of states providing education that barely meets CDC recommendations for education on sexuality. The literature shows that comprehensive sexuality education has a number of benefits from increased sexual health and prevention of adolescent pregnancy to improved relationships and academic performance. This perspective will increase the participants ’ knowledge of comprehensive sexuality education.
