26.4 a retrospective chart review of buspirone for the treatment of anxiety in psychiatrically referred youth with high-functioning asd

Anxiety disorders (ADs) are commonly associated with high-functioning ASD (HF-ASD) and often worsen with age. However, pharmacological treatment trials for anxiety in this population are lacking. This presentation will provide a brief overview of the existing pharmacological evidence for treating anxiety in ASD. Additionally, new data on the efficacy of buspirone, a commonly prescribed anxiolytic drug with a favorable tolerability profile, will be presented.
