The manufacturing process of conjugate vaccines is very complex and has various biological and chemical steps. It is important to monitor the process to ensure that the structural identity of the polysaccharide is maintained throughout the process. NMR ...

CONCLUSIONS This study contributed to the knowledge on the profile of confirmed cases of high severity yellow fever. The main factors associated with death were changes in renal excretion and elevated serum transaminases, especially ALT. High lethality emphasizes the need for early diagnosis and treatment, and the importance of increasing vaccination coverage.RESUMO OBJETIVO Descrever o perfil cl ínico-epidemiológico dos casos confirmados de febre amarela internados em hospital geral de referência para doenças infecciosas no estado do Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, de 11 de março de 2017 a 15 de ...

In recent years, a lot of scientific interest has focused on cancer immunotherapy. Although chronic inflammation has been described as one of the hallmarks of cancer, acute inflammation can actually trigger the immune system to fight diseases, including cancer. Toll-like receptor (TLR) ligands have long been used as adjuvants for traditional vaccines and it seems they may also play a role enhancing efficiency of tumor immunotherapy. The aim of this perspective is to discuss the effects of TLR stimulation in cancer, expression of various TLRs in different types of tumors, and finally the role of TLRs in anti-cancer immunity...

Conclusions: Naturally acquired sexual stage immunity, as detected by antibodies to Pfs230 and Pfs48/45, was present in most studies analyzed. Significant between-study heterogeneity was seen, and methodological factors were a major contributor to this, and prevented further analysis of epidemiological and biological factors. This demonstrates a need for standardized protocols for conducting and reporting seroepidemiological analyses.

Publication date: December 2019Source: Molecular Immunology, Volume 116Author(s): Bijara Devi Sanasam, Sanjeev KumarAbstractMalaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum is the most deadly and a major health issue worldwide. In spite of several control programs, there hasn’t been much improvement in keeping the disease under control. The appearance of drug resistant strains of Plasmodium in addition to insecticide resistance of the Anopheles vector has been a hurdle. Therefore, it is highly desirable to identify new potential candidates that can be targeted for therapeutic intervention. The present study identifies AMR1, a...
