Endophthalmitis Rates and Clinical Outcomes Following Penetrating and Endothelial Keratoplasty

Borkar and associates in their study1 compared endophthalmitis rates and clinical outcomes following penetrating and endothelial keratoplasty. It is indeed one of the largest series to describe endophthalmitis rates following endothelial keratoplasty. However, we would like to highlight a few confounding factors apart from those mentioned by the author, such as the cases of endophthalmitis by exposed Gore-Tex suture and bleb-related infection just immediate to postoperative time; here, to which keratoplasty group those cases are attributed is not mentioned.
