Comment on: Outcomes of a novel bariatric stent in the management of sleeve gastrectomy leaks: a multicenter study
In the current article [1] the authors reported a retrospective series of 37 endoscopic treatments of acute and early leaks with a novel, large, fully covered, specific stent. They should be commended for inciting bariatric professionals to better address the complications in bariatric surgery. Their past activity proved improvement in the management of this dreaded complication after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG). It is legitimate for them to propose new tools that should also be evaluated in larger prospective clinical trials.
