An unusual presentation of blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm

Background: Blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm (BPDCN) is a rare, clinically aggressive hematologic malignancy that was classified as a subgroup of acute myeloblastic leukemia by the WHO in 2008. It has a poor prognosis with median survival of 12-16 months and no standardized therapeutic guidelines. It is characterized by leukemic dissemination and high incidence of skin involvement. Cutaneous lesions typically present as solitary or multiple purpuric erythematous plaques, nodules, or tumors.
