Airway and cephalometric changes in adult orthodontic patients after premolar extractions.

CONCLUSIONS: There was no evidence that extractions in nongrowing patients have negative consequences on the size of various airway measures in the nasopharynx, retropalatal, or retroglossal regions. PMID: 31403835 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

In this study, we aimed to stress the importance of antrum wall thickness in CT examination. Method: The study included 111 patients between ages of 18 and 95 who had antral wall thickening in computed tomography and also had endoscopic evaluation performed in the same clinic. The patients were divided into two groups as benign and malignant according to the pathology results. The thickness of the antrum wall in computed tomography, hemoglobin and albumin levels, and age was compared among these two groups. Parameters with significant differences were further analyzed by multivariate analysis using logistic regression ...

CONCLUSIONS: Fresh frozen homologous bone seems to have a good healing pattern and to be a successful and steady grafting material for the treatment of maxillary ridge atrophy. It might be considered a valid alternative to autologous bone in sinus floor augmentation procedures. PMID: 31822046 [PubMed - in process]

ConclusionWe showed that BM FDG-positive predicted a poorer survival in patients with advanced stage DBLCL. We also found that BMB-negative and BM FDG-positive patients had similar PFS or OS to BMB-positive and BM FDG-negative patients. Further study in a larger population is needed to clarify clinical significance of BM FDG in these patients.
